I'm a bit disappointed that I haven't lost much in 6 weeks. I'm on 1400 cals and have been going to the gym 3 times a week for 6 weeks going for 1.5 hrs at a time but only lost 1.5 lbs. Some days when I go to gym and walk home I can do up to 15,000 steps a day 3 times a week, but still not losing. Why? Thanks rachel
Hi Rachel
I am wondering, if you are exercising so much (well done by the way), that you might be gaining muscle muscle which takes up less space in the body (so you look more streamlined and compact) but weighs more than fat. The result could be a slower loss of weight on the scales than expected but a healthier body and a loss in inches. If you’re demoralised, try keeping body measurements at the same time as doing your regular weigh ins. You might be happy to see your body shape is changing faster than your actual weight!
