I heard that if I stop eating before 6pm then this will increase weight loss at a faster rate - is this true?
However, I have to say that individual experiences can be different on this point and I have seen good weight loss results in my clinic when people have a cutoff point when they stop eating in the evening. For other people, not eating carbohydrates after a certain time in the evening also seems to help. This may have something to do with their metabolism and their bodies may be more efficient at burning off calories earlier on in the day when they are more active.
However, if eating earlier leaves you feeling hungry, you are more likely to lose self control in the evening and end up over-eating. So, my advice is always to stick to a routine that you know works best for you! I would certainly try to avoid eating too close to bedtime and try to leave at least 2 hours between eating and going to bed. That way you fully digest your food before you go to sleep. I hope this helps.Disclaimer
