Can the pre-menopause and menopause affect your weight loss?
What also happens around the menopause, due to changes in hormones, is that there tends to be a shift in fat distribution which can feel like weight gain but is actually just everything moving places!. You?re likely to put on fat around the middle and become slightly more of an ?apple? whereas you might have been a ?pear? before. Being overweight and apple shaped is more dangerous for your health - linked with heart disease and diabetes - than is being overweight and pear shaped, so it's even more important to keep an eye on your weight now! As long as you keep to your calorie intake there is no reason you shouldn?t be successful though, but it may be a slightly slower process than before.
