I've recently starting buying Fruit Pots in Juice from the supermarket as snacks. I thought they'd be a good way of eating an extra portion of fruit but then read somewhere that canned fruit lost a lot of its vitamins in the canning process and these fruit pots are similar? So now I'm not sure if they're a good idea from a nutritional point of view or not? Thanks Sylvi
Though fruit does lose some of it's goodness during the canning process it still counts as one of your five a day and has fibre, some vitamin C and antioxidants. Certainly as a snack it's a healthy option, and much better than chocolate or crisps. Just make sure the majority of your five a day is fresh or frozen and you?ll be fine!
